RemoteDeck terms of use and disclaimer

RemoteDeck is software for Windows that connects to computers, network devices, web consoles and cloud services (the "Software"). It is made available by Erkan Ozcan ("the Author") free of charge. By downloading, installing, running or otherwise using the Software you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not download or use the Software.

The Software, its source code, design, name, logo, documentation and the remotedeck.net website are the property of the Author and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Except for the limited permission below, no rights are granted to you, whether by implication, estoppel or otherwise. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by the Author.

Permission to use

The Author grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to download the Software from remotedeck.net and to run it, free of charge, on computers you own or are authorized to use, for personal or business purposes.

You may not:

• sell, rent, lease, sublicense, publish or distribute the Software, or offer it for download from anywhere other than remotedeck.net;
• copy, modify, translate or create works based on the Software, except copies kept for your own backup;
• reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the Software, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits this despite this restriction;
• remove or change any copyright, trademark or other notice in the Software;
• use the name "RemoteDeck" or the RemoteDeck logo to identify any other product, service or website.

The Author may change, suspend or stop offering the Software, and may end this permission, at any time.

Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for how you use the Software. In particular:

• Connect only to systems, devices, accounts and networks that you own or are explicitly authorized to access. Unauthorized access to computer systems is illegal in most countries.
• You are responsible for the security of your own computer, your Windows account and any credentials, keys, certificates and data you use with the Software, including what you choose to save and what you export.
• Some protocols the Software supports (for example Telnet and plain FTP) do not encrypt what they send. Use them only where that is acceptable.
• Actions you take on remote systems through the Software (commands, file transfers, changes, deletions), including actions sent to several systems at once with MultiExec, are your own.
• You must comply with all laws and regulations that apply to you, and with the terms of the services you connect to (for example Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud).

THE SOFTWARE AND THE WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, SECURITY, ACCURACY AND UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. THE AUTHOR DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS, WORK WITH ANY PARTICULAR SYSTEM, OR BE FREE OF DEFECTS OR VULNERABILITIES. YOU USE THE SOFTWARE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS OR GOODWILL, SERVICE INTERRUPTION, SECURITY BREACH, OR DAMAGE TO OR LOSS OF CONTROL OVER ANY COMPUTER OR SYSTEM, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE, THE WEBSITE OR THESE TERMS, HOWEVER CAUSED AND UNDER ANY THEORY OF LIABILITY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. WHERE LIABILITY CANNOT BE EXCLUDED, IT IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SOFTWARE, WHICH IS ZERO.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you; in that case they apply to the fullest extent allowed.

Updates

The Software checks remotedeck.net for newer versions when it starts and while it runs. When a newer version is available, the Software must be updated before it can be used; it downloads the new version, verifies its digital signature, and replaces itself. You agree to receive these updates. Updated versions are covered by these terms, or by any newer terms shown to you.

Privacy

The Software does not collect, send or sell personal data. It has no analytics, telemetry, advertising or accounts with the Author.

• Saved passwords are kept in Windows Credential Manager on your computer, protected by your Windows account. Your server list and settings are kept in files in your user profile. None of these are sent to the Author.
• Connections go directly from your computer to the systems you choose; they do not pass through any server of the Author.
• The update check is an ordinary request for a small file on remotedeck.net. Like any website request it reveals your IP address to Cloudflare, which sits in front of remotedeck.net, and to the server that hosts the site; both may keep routine logs. No other information is included.
• The remotedeck.net website uses no cookies, scripts, analytics or third-party content.

Amazon Web Services and AWS are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. Google Cloud is a trademark of Google LLC. Cloudflare is a trademark of Cloudflare, Inc. Other names are trademarks of their respective owners. Their use does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by them.

The Software also uses parts of Windows on your computer (the Remote Desktop control, WebView2 runtime, OpenSSH client and curl), which are licensed to you by Microsoft with Windows.

The Author may update these terms. The version in effect is shown on remotedeck.net/legal and in the Software; the Software asks you to accept new terms before you continue using it. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
